WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines

Our course originally scheduled to start April 25th has been postponed until the fall. We will update with new dates once finalized.

This is a three-day course (9:00-5:00) or eight-day course (6:00pm-9:00pm) where participants will have the opportunity to taste 35 wines, with examples from all of the major producing countries of the world.

This qualification provides a good understanding of the world of wine. It is popular with wine and spirit employees and enthusiasts alike and will give students a comprehensive understanding of the product. The aim of the course is to focus in detail on the key grape varieties and all the major wine producing regions of the world.

  • Growing vines and making wine
  • Factors influencing the style of wine
  • Classic grape varieties
  • Wine-producing regions of the world
  • Sparkling wines
  • Sweet wines and fortified wines
  • Label terminology
  • Food and wine pairing
  • The art of tasting wine in detail

Examination: To gain the qualification students must pass a multiple choice test of 50 questions.

A minimum of 15 hours of home study recommended
